Advent Gatherings will be a time to catch your breath as we
prepare for the birth of Jesus into our hearts and world. No
preparation needed, just arrive with an open heart and mind.
No time to read a book – no problem!
This Advent we will journey through the season by gathering around the table for food, videos, and conversation. A casual time for sharing about our faith and lives.
Here’s the plan:
- 6:00-6:45 Dinner
- 6:45-8:00 Short Video and Conversation
“Interrupted By Advent” is a series of short videos created by The Work of The People, an online site dedicated to weaving together faith, contemporary topics and dialogue.
We will hold discussions with each other and leaders in Christian faith and theology.
Our partners will be Nadia Boltz Weber, Richard Rohr, Wm Paul Young, and ParkerPalmer.
Dec. 7 “Holy Thief” with Nadia Boltz Weber
Dec. 14 “Bearing the Divine Through the Ordinary” with Richard Rohr
Thursdays rather than Wednesdays, to offer an evening when more people are free to participate and for a change of pace.
Dec. 20 “Coming to Find Us” with Wm Paul Young and
“The Risk of Incarnation” with Parker Palmer
Since December 21 is the Blue Christmas Service at 7:00 pm, we’ve moved the last gathering to Wednesday.
Please RSVP every Wednesday so that we can prepare enough food!
Looking to share our first Advent Season together as we prepare for Christmas.
